About us

The Order of Gentlemen is a premier culinary club based in the North-East of England, mainly Billingham, Stockton and Middlesbrough, oh and Hartlepool as well.

The aim of the club is to meet once a month and sample the wide array of different foods available at various restaurants and public houses across the region. Indian, Chinese, Italian and English culinary delights are sampled, usually on the last Thursday of the month.

At the end of the year, the club holds its Annual General Meeting, and this is the time we vote to decide which venue deserves the right to display the ‘Order of Gentlemen’ annual trophy. This prestigious trophy will be displayed at their premises for the next year. The trophy does not belong to them it is merely loaned for a year.

The following categories are taken into consideration when votes are cast; Quality of food, beverage selection, cleanliness, service, value for money and overall dining experience.

A club member is required to have attended a minimum of three culinary evenings to qualify for a vote. Votes are cast as, 1 point for their third choice, 2 points to their second choice and 3 points to their first choice (favourite venue)

The venue with the most points (once the votes have been verified) will be declared the winner and will be presented with the ‘Order of Gentlemen’ Trophy.
